Hunt for a Stag

The wolf named Tsune stoood upon a high up rock outside of the caves of the shen pack, planning to hunt and kill a buck, he wanted to impress the other members of the pack, he rather foolishly believed he would be able to take down a Stag himself, his soft fur swayed ever so slightly in the wind, he jumped down from the boulder he stood upon and landed on the dead grass softly, he took in a dee breath, and prepared to set off into the huge maze of the forest.

Kadal inched closer to the deer herd, the Alpha's ears pricked. He licked his lips with his amazingly long tongue, his green eyes watching a young stag thoughtfully. The son of the leader. He was young enough to be taken without upsetting the natural balance, but the showings of antlers where on his head. It would be risky, but he wouldn't kill it at once. It would be easier to follow it, pressing it on until it fell. He might not be back home at camp for some days.

Tsune took in another deep breathand then darted away at a fast speed, he had to be quick as a scout, he ran at an incredable speed and noticed a herd of deer, grazing in the long grass, a few stags appeared to be there, Tsune was about to foolishly barge ahead barge ahead and charge towartds them without even thinking through a plan, he bent his knees showing what he was about to do... Tsune hadn't yet noticed Kadal also planning on trying to get a meal for the pack out of this herd.

Kadal lunged forwards, pressing himself against the ground. It was too late once he saw Tsune. The herd scattered, and he slowed to a trot, raising his tail in a desperate attempt to show that he was not going to hunt them.

The deer scattered as they noticed Tsune, Tsune then noticed Kadal also on a hunt, Kadal had raised his tail to try to show the deer that he ment no harm, although Tsune knew that Kadal had intended on getting a deer as well, Tsune also raised his tail, he turned his head towards Kadal. "Erm, sorry about that," He said "Ahehe..hehehe...." The deer didn't appear to stop running away from the pair and the continued in their desperate rrun away from to two wolves, Tsune began to run towards them, slowly accelerating, despite his speed it could still take a while.

(OOC:What if we make a little competition outof this, have our characters competing to see who could get the buck, my character is weak but incredably fast, but your character I assume is considerably stronger than mine, so it would be interesting to see what was most important when hutning? XD)

OOC: Actually, Kadal has a bit of everything. He doesn't excel in anything XD

"Tsune wait!" Kadal sighed. "Let them re-group!"

OOC:Well yeah... but my character is really weak, I was just kinda meaning in comparisin.

Tsune skidded to a halt, and turned to face Kadal. "Good point," he said as he waited for teh deer to regroup, Tsune wasn't teh most experianced wolf in hunting anyway, he had barely left puphood.

OOC: So he's a subordinate?

Kadal flattened himself to the ground, then circled the herd, looking for the muscular young stag. When he saw him, he flicked his tail to signal to Tsune. He moved in, skidding in between the legs of the nervous deer. When he reached the stag, he began to try and herd him out from the group, but suddenly he realized what the wolf was doing and rose up onto his hind hooves, bringing them down next the Kadal. The area around the Alpha exploded, and the deer scattered again, but this time Kadal didn't take his green eyes off the stag. "This way Tune!"

(OOC:Well, not really, he was trained in secret as a pup due to his speed and good body size for a scout)

Tsune aggreed with a nod and sped away towards the stag, running along beside Kadal, because of his small build he most likely wouldn't be able to literally take down the stag, but he would be able to at least stop it in it's tracks by catching up with it and then Kadal could properly take it down, Tsune slowly caught up with the stag and just as he leaped into the air to try and catch the stag it quickly darted to the right avoiding the young wolf Tsune fell flat on hsi belly missing the stag, but he managed to scramble back up, he began running again to catch up with Kadal and the stag.

OOC sorry guys...but I thought I was alpha now?

Scar slipped through the grass looking out at Tsuna and Kadal as they tried to bring down a stag the Alpha sat back watching the two of them deciding to wait and see what happens so far he was a little disappointed a wolf's most exceptional ability was surprise yet his scout and his Beta had given it up Scar still decided not to judge quite yet. His eyes roamed over spotting one stag that was slower probably a sprain and yet neither had yet to notice it, Scar committed the stag to memory in case he needed to hunt instead.

Scar stretched his body as he stayed in the silence of the forest moving with the herd to always keep the wounded Stag in sight he flashed into view for a second before dissapering back into the trees his body wired for the chase and the attack, He bent his legs waiting now the stags were running his direction with the wounded Stag a heft male on the left side somewhere in the outer rim of the middle sadly a bad place to be.

OOC: Nope.

Kadal eyed the stag thoughtfully. Maybe with two they could bring it down... "Tsune. Don't attack it. We'll tire it instead." The Alpha slunk behind the deer, slashing at its heels to make it run. "You have good stamina right? We'll need that and speed."

Tsune nodded, careful not to make any noises so he didn't startle the deer again, Tsune then ran behind the deer, trying to keep at the same speed as the deer so it didn't get away and it was over taken, the wolf continued running behind the deer, which was quiter a speedy deer at that, the deer attempted to kick the wolf but Tsune managed to speedily roll to the side and continued the chase.

Kadal had slowed to a trot, fast enough to keep sight of the deer, but slow enough so as not to waste too much energy. His green eyes flared with the excitement of the chase, and he moved with the swiftness and grace of the hunter. Let the Shen wolves be safe during our absence...

Tsune unlike Kadal was trying to stay close to the deer to make them run faster, and then to tire them out, although not too close, he continued chasing them for quite a while, licking his lips at the thought of it, his ears flickering with exitement.

OOC: You do realize they are only following the one stag right?

OOC:Yeah, why? What did I say that implied otherwise?

OOC: Scattered them.

OOC: 'he didn't want them to scatter again'

Meaning the deer O_O

Kadal looked over his shoulder. There was the tree that marked the end of the border. The where heading towards the town, away from anyone's territory. "Try and steer it away from the direction of the ruins. We could run the risk of losing our prey."

Okay. The ruins of the city were to the right so the wolf named Tsune sped up, using a considerable amount of energy and as he came closer to teh side the city would be on he let out a loud bark, this cause the deer to shriek in fright and turn in the other direction, Tsune then darted forwards and continued the chase.
