Snow....

Pulling himself out of the snow, he spat out the rest of the snow from his maw and shook himself, again. "Yeah I figured. You look fast." he said, chilled from the unpleasant fall in the snow. "I'm pretty fast too, I just... I'm not too good in snow." he grinned. If canines could blush, he'd be redder than a Californian tomato.
He sat down, next to the deer, and decided to get acquainted with Kinshi better. He wasn't too hungry.

Kinshi giggled. "Yes, i'm sure that's it." She bit into the warm deer and tore a strip from it.
The warm blood soaked her tounge and jaw. She chewed it. The meat of deer tasted good after rabbits and mice.

Scath cleared his throat, "Yeah... Where you from?" he asked. He felt like a pup playing a question game.

"Me well from far away past a set of moutains where humans still go to somethimes. THere weren't any packs there." Kinshi said. chewing on a new strip. She tought softly. How for away was she form her childhood home.

Scath laid down comfortably, curled up to conserve some heat. "Huh. That's quite a bit a way." he said simply. How far had he traveled? Could he even remember what he'd gone through, what places he'd traveled in? Nope. "At least you had a family, it sounds a lot easier to take care of yourself when you've got help." he smiled.

Kinshi smilied weakly. "Yea," SHe slightly lied. Not wanting pity. She didn't want to burden others she really didn't. It jsut wasn't like her you see. No her parent were taken while she was only five moons old. She had been a good hunter that was the only thing that got her tourgh it all that and her speed. She outran a grizzly a few times. She hd also gotten it lsot.

"Yeah. Brothers, sisters, a mom." Scath looked up at the sky, into the blue nothingness, trying to remember his mother's scent. Her tawny coat... her soft fur...

Not remembering much, he sighed and looked down at the deer. Now he really wasn't hungry. He felt like throwing up, the pain of loss was so harsh. He shook his head lightly, clearing his head. No need to think like that when he had a pack-mate now. "So, you can run. I'm assuming you can fight, so which one are you better at?"

"I'm better at hunting and running, i'm also a very good tracker. I was never teh strongest of the litter," SHe said. She ate more weakly, not really wanting to the rock in he stomch hurt. Not wanting to worry him she ate slowly.

Scath rolled onto his back, looking at the sky. "That's awesome. I'm not much of a tracker, but I can run. I'm a little shabby at hunting though. But I'm getting better." he kept his mind focused on his hunting skills, how he tracked his prey, how well he was at chasing deer. He didn't want to dwell on the past. Again.

"SO are you any good at fighting?" Kinshi asked trying to keep up the conversation.

ooc: yeah, my poor lil' loser. He tries tho, he sure does try. XD

Scath looked over at the she-wolf, "Yeah, fighting's the best thing I got. It's the one thing I'm really, really good at." he grinned. "You know I once fought a mountain lion?" he asked, eager to show some sort of right to brag.

Kinshi smiled, "Cool." Her smile was half-hearted since she still remembered her family.

That shut Scath up. He figured he said too much anyway. He looked back up at the blue sky, faintly aware that the sun was finally giving up for the day. But he didn't care much, he gazed at the clouds, picking up all the shapes out. Moose, rabbit, squirrel... He chuckled out loud:Dancing Coyote.

Kinshi looked at him raiseing an eyebrow. She wasn't hungrey so she curled up beside him. WAtching him softly. He had pretty eyes.

Scath became aware of Kenshi's gaze burning into his pelt, her warmth beside him, and instantly felt uncomfortable. "Um... the clouds up there. I used to look at them when I was little and pick out the shapes they made. See that one up there?" he looked over to the left, to where he found the funniest one. "It's a dancing coyote. See, it's hopping on one paw." he studdered only slightly, but it was still there.

Kinshi looked up at the cloud, "Yea." She smiled. HEr tiny tail felt could as the sun was about to fall away. "It's gonna be freezeing tonight."

Scath stayed a stiff as a piece of wood, unwilling to move, unwilling to relax. "It tends to get that way in winter." he said uncomfortably. "There's a den in the tree you could have if you want. It's mine, but I don't mind." he suggested, trying his best to have hospitality.

" I couldn't take it from you, i'll find away to stay warm." Kinshi smiled. Sometimes she wondered if she was to giveing.

Scath stood up, eager to get his space back, and shook his fur. "Nah, don't worry about it. It's cool. The pine needles on the tree keep you warm when your in the branches. I'll sleep up there tonight." he said, heading toward the hollow in the base of the tree, where his own den lay. "Tomorrow I'll set up a new den, and you can take this one."

Kinshi sighed guessing she couldn't change his mind so she went on to sleep in he den.
