| Blood formed a puddle in the hole he'd made when coming into contact with the pile. He sniffed it. It was his own blood, and it was still flowing, but he couldn't feel the pain unless he moved. In his haste, he'd stumbled, and the edge of the ring of rubbish had caved in. He must have landed on something sharp or metallic. His grey-black fur was being stained red. Red... The colour of death. How often had he been glad to see it? Ryo let his head fall, and closed his eyes. The Kai-Ken felt ill. So ill. | |

| Filth. Nothing but filth. Gray skies, rotten scents, and filth. What was the purpose of being here? What could one possible gain from such a place? Jaeger couldn't believe he was looking here of all places for anything he could use, but it was part of the only areas he hadn't checked yet, so it had to be checked.
He pawed through the foreign-trash littered ground, snarling at what the humans had left behind. Disgusting creatures. Sniffing through various items, the wolf found nothing but what he had thought of it. Trash.
Coming at the start of yet another pile, Jaeger sighed at the thought of forcing his paws through all of the giant mound, but it had to be done. He forced a paw through it, one slow swipe dragging its way into the trash, filth flowing out of the pile. He sniffed all of it, finding nothing but a harsh sting to welcome his nose. He repeated his first step, shoving another limb into the stash, more garbage coming to his paws. He sniffed through all it again, the fur on his neck bristling at the scent of blood. The iron tang was fresh, still wet.
It wasn't prey scent, but some sort of canine's. He growled, unsure of what he'd find, but determined to find out. He started digging, his hind legs keeping him grounded to the top of the pile as he dug down with his fore paws pushing things away one by one.

| Ryo listened to the snuffling and grumblings of some distant canine. He didn't have the energy to call out. What if it was just another fox? They weren't interested in an injured predator. | |

| The wolf kept going, eager to find what he dreaded most. If it was dead, at least he'd be able to bury it properly. No canine deserved to be left in a dump, to rot for all eternity. Finally shoving past what he thought was the last blood-soaked piece of trash there would be to hold him from the corpse, he felt his eyes bulge with surprise as he found out it wasn't dead. Not yet.
"Can you move?" Jaeger was standing by his side, kind of. The trash was still over the dog, still covering some of him, but he was still trying to unbury him. It wasn't easy work, but if he could help the canine out, well then at least he could be proud he did something right.

| Ryo looked up at the black wolf(?). He stared blankly at him for a few seconds, taking in what he had said. "Move..." He attempted to pull himself nearer, but all he managed was a feeble twitch. "Not really." He was surprised to hear how cracked his voice sounded. | |

| The brown wolf frowned at the reply, sensing a whole lot more work coming his way. Well, would it be safe to pick the dog out of the pile now? "What hurts?" What happened to this dog? What did he do to get trapped under all this trash? Was it even possible to manage that feat? | |

| Was that a good thing? Jaeger shook his head, trying to shake any confusion from his mind. He had to get the dog out first, then worry about the after effects. "This might hurt, but you can't stay in here." He grabbed the thick scruff of the dog, tugging hard, straining under the heavy weight the canine possessed. What did this guy eat? | |

| Ryo felt himself being tugged. He was about to try and resit, but instead let himself be dragged out. He groaned to himself softly, just wanting to rest his head and sleep. | |

| Once he reached the crest, he let go, letting the dog lay at the top as he groaned with relief as he dropped the weight he once held. "You gotta skip a few meals," he muttered, convinced the dog was too out of it hear. So. Now? What did he do now? "Um...." He had no idea how to help the canine. "Hurt yet?' | |

| Ryo muttered to himself. He wasn't sure about what. Slowly, his voice rose, till his nonsense was loud enough to hear. Delirious, he began to struggle to sit up, away from Jaegar. | |

| The wolf, still confused and feeling as helpless as the dog he tried to save, slowly stepped back from the canine as he began to mumble uncontrollably, nonsense spewing from his muzzle. Jaeger felt his fur rise on his neck as he stopped breathing all together. He was too nervous to ask what was wrong, and quite frankly, too scared of what the answer might be. | |

| Jaeger growled in aggrivation, "That's what I'm tryin to do! Tell me what wrong." He padded forward, trying to pull the dog up by his scruff so he could duck under and keep him up by holding his neck up at least. What was he going to do? What should he do? Should he go find someone else to help the dog? Maybe that'd be the smart thing. He knew nothing of herbs. Maybe the dog did. The wolf hoped dearly that the dog knew at least something. | |

| "I'd say its pretty obvious." Ryo snapped. That was good. He was recovering at least a hint of his personality. This wolf had woken him from his semi-coma thing. | |

| "What you say and what i say obviously ain't the same thing, dog." Sure he had nothing against dogs, but it made a good insult so he went ahead and threw it out there. He had absolutely no idea what was wrong with the dog, but if he could easily tell Jaeger what was up with him, it'd make the wolf's life a hell of a lot easier. | |

| "Congratulations. You can tell what species I am. You must at least have one brain cell in there somewhere." Ryo coughed again. "Since you can't seem to be able to tell anything else, I'll spell it out for you. I have a giant hole in my side!" | |

| The wolf growled, angered, and looked over at the hound's side. He saw nothing but mud matted onto his fur. Jaeger narrowed his eyes, nudging a paw across his striped pelt to see the mud give way and a small amount of blood leak through. No wonder he couldn't see. "Maybe this will teach a mutt like you to keep away from here." He scraped at the wound, carefully, trying not to hurt the dog as much as he'd like to. He'd clean it out and patch it up with.... Something. | |

| Ryo flinched, but said nothing about the wolf's lack of care. "Heh, nah. Only good place to get food around here." | |

| ooc: :O How long has this been here, dude?
The wolf looked up at the dog as he winced, "Sorry. Tryin' my best here." At least they weren't yelling anymore. And what about food? Couldn't he just go to the outskirts of the territories? Squirrels and rabbits tended to stay there, just outside wolf territory. It was pretty easy hunting if you could stay out of the pack lands. If not, well, the town always had the cold den with all that cold prey hanging about.

| "Don't worry about it. No pain no gain right?" Ryo blinked, realizing this had been his Subordinate's favourite saying. But it was no use dwelling on the past. A fly landed on his scarred face, but he shook it off gently. He was regaining his strength simply by talking. It was good. | |

| "Yeah. Sure." He sat back, seeing that he couldn't do much more about the wound. It was cleaned as much as he could get it. "You strong enough to walk?" Jaeger knew the answer would probably be no, but maybe he'd finally get lucky. He'd have to get the dog somewhere clean and get him something to eat. It shouldn't be too hard, as long as the dog could eat. | |

| "Damn it all. I have no clue what I'm doing." The wolf growled, fed up with his frustration. He was lost and confused and his belly hurt from hunger. But he took a moment to think, or at least he tried. "Any bright ideas?" | |
