| A white wolf in the middle of a white valley. Flowers emitting a strange kind of aura, a strange scent litter the valley. His black collar is tipped with snow. His eyes dart over to look at a blurred figure. He turns, raising a red stained muzzle. The figure steps forward, leaving a layer of fog behind it. The blurriness fades to reveal a pretty wolf, her eyes blank. The golden eyes in the strong face fade quickly, leaving a sad look bouncing across his eyes. The white wolf's ears press against his head. He steps forwards, trying to reach her. A smile lights her face, but as he reaches her, she gives a shrug and starts submerging into the ground. The white wolf's eyes widen, and suddenly he falls to the ground. He is whimpering without making a sound, spilling out his thoughts without a single twitch. All he can thing is one name. It rings through his head, casting an ever lasting echo...
"Don't leave me again! Please!" Kestrel's eyes snapped open, and suddenly all came back to him. She was dead. He was leader of a dangerous pack. He would be executing his plan in but a few moons. He gazed at his surroundings. Crickets chirruped in the tall grass of the valley. Dew stuck to his white pelt, making him shiver. He must have fallen asleep when taking his stroll last night. He blinked, his eyes adjusting to the dim light. Make that this night. An owl flew just over his head, screeching at him angrily. He bore his teeth, then looked around. Should he go back to camp or lie here? It was comfortable here. He closed his eyes and lay down again, breathing softly.

| ooc: if you don't want Blue to find him, I'll be more than willing to delete my post :3
Blue, about eight months old now, wandered through the overgrown grass. He'd disobeyed Soliua's orders ("Alpha will be fine on his own for a few hours, you needn't worry." she'd said.) by sneaking out to look for Kestrel just before dusk; the alpha had been gone since the day before, and, Blue being the curious pup he was, he wanted to see where Kestrel had wandered off to. And maybe it was just that he was so used to Kestrel being around all the time, and he missed the white wolf. The moon had passed its peak and was disappearing behind the dunes and the desert. The white puppy's still-floppy ears perked as he heard a sharp cry. From what he could tell, the someone who made the noise wasn't near, but wasn't far. "Alpha?" he called, not taking the chance of being found by someone else into account. He bounded toward the area he heard the exclamation, sniffing determinedly to find his alpha's scent. "...Kestrel?" he barked, stopping for a moment to rest. "Keeeessssttrreeeelllll!" he called. He sat down, glancing in every direction for any sign of the wolf's white pelt. After a few minutes of gazing at the stars, Blue started his search again, nose sifting through the grass.
ooc: can Blue think of Kestrel as his father? Or at least a father-figure? It could be a reason why he's so determined to follow him around and stuff...

| OOC: Issa Open thread siller. And yeah. That was kind of Kestrel's plan at the beginning.
Kestrel opened one golden eye and looked around, letting out an inward groan when he caught sight of Blue. He closed his eyes again and prayed to the Gods that he wouldn't be found.

| "Aaaaaaaalphaaaaaaaa," Blue called again. He could smell the wolf was close. "Soluia told me we didn't need to look for you but I wanted to anyway." he said, voice raised. (because he still hadn't found Kestrel, but knew he was near...) Blue yawned widely. "Keeestreeeellll," he found pawprints in the damp ground; surely they were Alpha's? The pup wagged his curled tail and followed the prints, occasionally trying to match the stride. He finally found the wolf, lying in the grass. "Alpha?" he whispered, as he had come up facing Kestrel's back. "Are you awake?"
ooc: gah, Blue's making me yawn DX d'aw, Blue looks so cute stretching out like that to step in much bigger pawpriiiiinnttts <333

| "Yes." Kestrel grunted, flicking his tail at Blue. He just wanted to relax. The dreams had been haunting him. All he wanted was a good night's rest. What was a villain without his sleep? His thoughts trailed back to the she-wolf in his dream. If she hadn't gone.. Would he be the same wolf? Would he be trying to command the forests? Would he kill his own family? | |

| "Are you okay?" Blue bounced around to Kestrel's front, tilting his head. "Was that you who called out just now? It kinda sounded like your voice. But I dunno, I was still a little far away and my ears have a flop covering the part the lets me hear. It sounded like whoever called like that was sad or something. Are you sad? You look kinda sad. Your eyes are sad. Well, they're actually yellow, but they look sad, like you're sad." he babbled. "Are you sad?" Blue really did care.
ooc: XD Blue's juuuust like me. Well, my more hyper self. Basically the me that's around friends.

| One of Kestrel's golden eyes gave an involuntary twitch. "No I'm not sad pup. I did not call out to anyone. You should get your hearing checked." | |

| "Oh, sorry..." Blue looked a bit crestfallen. "So, um....um.....um...." he couldn't think of anything to say. "Well, at least I have a good nose?" he tried. "I found you, didn't I?" | |

| kestrel gave a blink and sat up. "A good nose won't serve you unless you are hunting. Never trust your scenes to lead you to safety. Or your instinct. The only way to truly survive in this world is to use your brain. Thats what most of the fools in the pack have forgotten." | |

| Blue had to tilt his head back to look up at the alpha's face. "I'll learn to do that, right?" he asked excitedly, his poofy, curled tail wagging slightly. | |

| Kestrel gave a smile. "Only technique can be learnt. The rest is up to you." He stood up, his white felt dripping with dew. "Strength helps when becoming powerful. I can help with that." The powerful Alpha bore his glinting unusually long white fangs. "Prepare to fight." | |

| "Wai--what?!" Blue brislted. "I-I don't know how!"
ooc: y'know he's only like half Kestrel's size. XD He's not small, it's just...Kestrel's big X3

| OOC: Yup. =3
Kestrel gave a smile. "When faced with the real thing, its surprising to see how much you actually do know." After a second's pause, he rushed forwards, the moonlight glinting down on his fangs, a sudden savage look coming to his normally calm eyes. The true instinct of the wolf was fight or flight. Being stronger normally stopped one running.

| Blue just barely dodged the wolf's first attack. He turned on a paw and leaped blindly, paws outstretched. Blue didn't know what he was hoping to inflict, he just followed what his paws and brain told him. | |

| Kestrel gave a snort, and stepped to one side. "Listen when I speak pup. Do not trust your instincts. Use your brain, don't hope it will work for you." | |

| Blue nodded, landing heavily on his paws and skidding a bit. "Um..." he turned and paused, taking a moment to consider possibilities. Kestrel was far larger than him, which gave the wolf a slight disadvantage, as Blue would be quicker. But he was also stronger than him, which pretty much cancelled out the size thing. Blue rushed forward, sliding under the white wolf's legs, and snapped at his right hind leg. | |

| Kestrel gave a grin, stepping to one side, just a little, so that Blue would scrape across his leg. Then he kicked out madly, hoping to strike the young canine's side. | |

| He flew back, letting out an involuntary yelp. It took him a moment to regain his footing, then he launched himself at Kestrel's shoulder.
ooc: lol no muse. | |

| Kestrel rose, then batted down the pup as he flew by, or at least tried to. "Surely you can do better than that?" | |

| "Oof!" he hit the ground again, skidding a small ways. (again.) (right here he's like seven feet away from Kestrel.) "I told you already, I don't know how to fight!" he growled, crouching to pounce again. He paused like that for a second, then turned and darted into the thicker grass.
ooc: he be at least a LITTLE smart. 'Cause, y'see, the moisture in the grass will make his fuzzeh fer all wet and his scent will blend wif the gras and stuff... Just explaining his intentions XD

| OOC: Actually, that wouldn't work at all, cuz its a little known fact that Kestrel lost his sense of smell ages ago.
Kestrel spat at the ground, then sat down again. He would wait. Running after the pup would be futile; even though he could see in the dark almost as clearly as he could in day, he was tired. He'd never catch up.
